The Magnolia Restaurant is dedicated to Rajmata Vidyawati Devi of Kasmanda. Her highness was an avid Gardner and in 1917 she set about landscaping the large grounds of the Palace. In the early 1920's she planted the beautiful magnolia trees all around the garden. From 1930's to 1960's she took a prominent part in organizing the annual flower shows held at Mussoorie and would invariably be the top three winners. Some trophies awarded to her can be seen in the Belvedere Lounge.
